A MATH GAME - HIT ME (AKA ZERO)

I was impressed by this math blog because it uses a family game (cards) and connects it to a mathematical topic (adding & subtracting integers). The students use a regular deck of cards, the dealers passes cards out in a circle to the students, students add up the cards (black cards are positive - red cards are negative) and the player with the lowest absolute value wins the round. This is a great way for the students to learn in a fun way. The students practice their mental math skills, adding & subtracting whole numbers and have fun doing it.
I can use this game in my class as practice or a way to review adding & subtracting whole numbers.
